Description
The Coverlet range of throws has a pattern that is inspired by American coverlets and ancient German and British block weave designs. These designs were historically these patterns were woven in various forms based on plain weave, such as the familiar doubleweave fabric familiar to us in Welsh blankets.
These throws are woven in a reversing three shaft twill which presents the reverse colourway on the other side. This means that on one side of the throw the weft colour dominates and on the other, the neutral warp yarn is dominant giving a softer more muted (opposite) colourway.
Dark apple is a beautifully refreshing shade of green, just beautiful against white walls and natural wood. The yarn is 100% best quality lambswool which comes from two Scotland.
Each throw is hand woven by me in my West Cornwall studio. It is then cut from the loom, scoured and washed to ‘full’ the cloth, and finally steam pressed to finish and label. The fringe is created on the loom. A hem stitch is used to lock groups of threads together, forming a decorative finish to the edges.
Perfect for autumn days and winter nights by the fire or on the sofa, or for adding a bit of extra warmth, colour and style to your bed.
In the summer it can double up as a picnic blanket.
