Kilim pink handwoven lambswool throw – ‘Moroccan Tiles’
Part of my ‘Moroccan Tiles’ range, the pattern on this blanket throw is inspired by the colourful geometric designs on old ceramic tiles from Marrakesh and is woven in a reversing three shaft twill which presents the reverse colourway on the other side.
Perfect for autumn days and winter nights by the fire or on the sofa, or for adding extra warmth, colour and style to your bed. In the summer it can double up as a picnic blanket. You could also wear this as a ‘blanket shawl’, draped around the shoulders over a long dress, or skinny jeans.
Each throw is hand woven in my London / Surrey studio. It is cut from the loom and the edge is then fringed by hand. The bundles of threads are twisted in one direction and then twisted together in the opposite direction to form the fringes and knotted. The throw is then scoured and washed to remove all spinning oils and to ‘full’ the cloth. After washing and pressing the knots are trimmed from the fringes and the label is sewn in.
Dimensions: approximately 195cm x 110 cm (77” x 43”)
